Look, we get it - nobody really loves reading legal stuff. But here's the deal: we actually care about your privacy. This isn't some cookie-cutter policy written by lawyers who've never met a real person. We're architects, and just like we design spaces with people in mind, we handle your data the same way.
When you reach out to us or work with us, we'll collect some basic stuff like your name, email, phone number, and address. Pretty standard, right?
If you're hiring us for a project, we'll also need info about your property - location, existing plans if you've got 'em, maybe some photos you send over. We might collect technical data too, like your IP address when you visit our site, but honestly that's mostly just to keep the lights on and make sure everything's working properly.
We don't go digging around for stuff we don't need. If it's not relevant to designing your space or keeping in touch, we're not interested.
Here's what we do with your info, plain and simple:
We won't sell your data to anyone. Ever. That's not our business model, and frankly, it's kinda gross.
Most of the time, it's just us here at the studio. But sometimes we need to loop in other folks:
Project Partners: Structural engineers, contractors, sustainability consultants - the team that helps bring your project to life. They only get what they need to do their part.
Service Providers: Our email hosting, cloud storage, and project management tools. We pick companies that take security seriously.
Legal Obligations: If a court or government agency requires it, we'll comply. But we'll fight unnecessary requests.
Everyone who touches your data signs agreements to keep it confidential. We're pretty picky about who we work with.
We use industry-standard encryption for data transmission and storage. Our systems are regularly updated and backed up. Access to client files is restricted to team members who actually need it for your project.
Physical documents? Locked cabinets. Digital files? Password-protected and encrypted. We're not perfect - nobody is - but we take reasonable precautions seriously.
If there's ever a breach that affects your data, we'll let you know promptly. No hiding, no delays.
This is your data, not ours. You've got rights:
To exercise any of these rights, shoot us an email at info@halcyonbattle.info. We'll respond within a couple weeks max.
Our website uses cookies - those little files that help remember your preferences. We use 'em for:
We don't use advertising cookies or track you across other websites. That's creepy, and it's not our style.
You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but some features might not work as smoothly.
Active projects? We keep everything current and accessible.
Completed projects? We're legally required to keep architectural records for 7 years in Canada (sometimes longer for historic preservation work). After that, we'll securely delete personal info unless you've asked us to keep it for future projects.
Marketing contacts? If you haven't engaged with us in 3 years, we'll remove you from our list.
Some stuff stays permanently in portfolio format (with your permission) - but we anonymize it or only use project photos, not personal details.
Sometimes we link to other websites - maybe a supplier's site, a sustainability resource, or a local zoning office. Once you click through, you're on their turf, and their privacy policies apply.
We try to link to reputable sources, but we can't control what they do. Read their policies if you're concerned.
We might update this policy occasionally - new laws, new tech, or just improving our practices. When we do, we'll update the date at the top.
Major changes? We'll email active clients and post a notice on our site. Minor tweaks? Check back here whenever you're curious.
If something in here doesn't make sense, or you've got concerns about how we handle your information, just reach out. Seriously.

We're not trying to hide behind legalese here. Privacy matters, and we'll treat your concerns with the same care we put into our designs.
